UEPLAC is to follow up with its support to the Ministry of Economy in a number of areas |
UEPLAC is to follow up with its support to the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine (MoE) in a number of regulatory areas.
Firstly, the Project intends to follow up with its assistance in the area of sanitary and phytosanitary measures (SPS) following request of the Ministry of Economy. Thereupon, UEPLAC PMT held a meeting with Mr Leonid PYROZHKOV, Director of the Department on Co-operation with the EU at the Ministry of Economy, and Mrs Aliona MELNYK, Head of Unit within this directorate. The participants have discussed the joint activities planned, namely the forthcoming workshops on SPS measures, targeting mainly the MoE and the CMU specialists. Such a need for trainings was motivated by eventual Ukraine’s commitments as to the SPS practice under the EU-Ukraine FTA. While meeting, a list of topics to be included in the workshops programme has been finalised.
Commending sector-related support from UEPLAC, the MoE also agreed to identify the next relevant priority sectors in order to further address the Project.
Finally, the MoE representatives also welcomed the EU tax law conference follow-up and the further dissemination of information concerned.
