UEPLAC organised an international mission to Sofia for the representatives of the Supreme Court, the MoJ and the VRU |
On 1-7 June 2008, an international mission to Sofia took place. The aim of this mission was to allow the members of the delegation, representing respectively the Supreme Court, the MoJ and the VRU, to be exposed about the state of affairs in different EU countries regarding probation systems and the available alternatives to imprisonment for drug related offenders, and in particular for juveniles, while at the same time networking with European colleagues (from Italy, UK, Poland, Slovenia, Romania and Bulgaria). The event was a part of a larger programme of activities in the framework of the EU funded project named “TOPIC II”, co-financed by the European Commission (DG FSJ) and the Local Health Authority (ASL) of Milan (Italy) for the reduction of drug related criminality.
